12 Years a Slave has dropped one to number 2

47 Ronin has dropped down from two to number 3

The Railway Man is down one to number 4

The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug remains at number 5

This Week's Independent "Alternative" Singles Top 40 UK Chart - [to 31st May 2014]

Here is the Official Independent Singles Chart (UK Independent Singles Top 40) for the week ending 31st May 2014: UK Independent Top 40 Chart - to 31st May 2014

This week's Alternative chart Top 5 news is as follows: 

Vance Joy's Riptide is up two places to Number 1! "Tsunami (Jump)" by DVBBS & Borgeous ft. Tinie Tempah remains at number 2. "Waves" by Mr Probz is new  in at number 3. "Let Her Go" by Passenger (yes, still loving it), remains at number 4 and "Rise Like a Phoenix" Conchita Wurst has dropped from number 1 to number 5. I much prefer this week's number 5 to last week's number 5. It's a tad 'Bond'esque' 'tis is not? I missed Eurovision this year. Just checked the video out. Rose petals in a bathtub... I say.

Here is the Official Independent Singles Chart (UK Independent Singles Top 40) for the week ending 24th May 2014: UK Independent Top 40 Chart - to 24th May 2014

This week's Alternative chart Top 5 news is as follows: 

"Tsunami (Jump)" by DVBBS & Borgeous ft. Tinie Tempah is no longer number 1. 

"Rise Like a Phoenix" Conchita Wurst has risen like a phoenix from number 87 all the way to take the Tsunami down, sending DVBBS, Borgeous and Tinie to number 2. Vance Joy's "Riptide" is up one from 3 to number 2.  "Let Her Go" by Passenger (still loving it), goes up one from 5 to number 4 and "His Daughter", by Molly Kate Kestner is new in at number 5.

"Tsunami (Jump) "by DVBBS & Borgeous ft. Tinie Tempah is STILL number one after 8 weeks at the top.  Vance Joy's "Riptide" remains at number 2. "Do it again" by Royksopp and Robyn is new in at number 3.  "Let Her Go" by Passenger (I LOVE this song!) is down from number 3 to number 4. New in at number 5 is "All I do is win" by DJ Khaled, T-Pain and Ludacris.

It'll be May Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow. Any nice plans ?
